By default, stump grinding leaves the chips in place as mulch — which is fine if you just want the stump gone. But fresh wood chips aren't great soil to plant into: they temporarily tie up nitrogen and settle over time. Hauling them away gives you a clean cavity to fill with exactly what you want, so your new grass, plant, or tree gets the best possible start.
Once we've cleared the grindings, the spot is yours. Drop in clean topsoil and lay sod for an instant lawn, seed it with grass, plant a new tree or shrub, or just level it with dirt. We can backfill with topsoil for you on request, or leave it open for your landscaper.
